iRun Review: E-Commerce (4.5 stars)
Well-Balanced E-Commerce System
iRun's e-commerce is one of our favorites because it is both professional-looking and has a great variety of options. It also allows you to upload a number of products at once using a spreadsheet. The only problem is that you have to go to a different area of the builder to upload images.
Professional Shopping Cart and Catalog
iRun’s shopping cart and catalog are very well-designed. Both look great and are easy to use as a customer and as a shop owner.
When you browse through the website, the shopping cart stays with you with all the items you put in it. The products on the catalog page can be divided into categories and can be spread out onto multiple pages, which can be browsed through conveniently.

Lots of Shopping Cart Options, Smooth to Use
iRun’s e-commerce system has a variety of useful options and is accompanied with reasonably good instructions. It’s easy to set up different shipping zones with options for express shipping, flat rate (per order, per item, or based on subtotal). You can also offer discounts by percentage of sale, flat rate, or even on shipping and handling.

Easy to Set Up Shopping Cart Options
Product Options You Set Yourself
iRun’s e-commerce system allows you to set options for your products. You can create your own option sets depending on your products, whether it’s t-shirt sizes or item colors. It’s flexible so you can name the product option set as well as the options within it.
You can also offer price variations on the same product. For example, if you were selling a cell phone and you wanted the option to include a charger or a leather case or both, you can have different price variations for each option.
There is also a stock status option that allows you to indicate whether your product is in stock, on back order, pre-order or out of stock.
Use a Merchant Account or PayPal, but Not Both
iRun is integrated with PayPal and you also have the option to use a merchant account through a number of different payment gateways, including PSIGate, Authorize.net, Multicards, Linkpoint, SECpay, and iTranscat. The only trouble is that you can use one or the other but not both at the same time.
Uploading Products is Easy, Attaching Images to Them is Not
Uploading your products themselves is simple. You can even upload a bunch all at once using a spreadsheet file. If you plan to make use of the 500 product limit, this option will benefit you.
Attaching your images to those products is the hard part. You can’t set up your products and images all in one area. Their system forces you to switch between e-commerce and the editor to do everything that needs doing. And after half an hour, we gave up on trying to figure out how to attach an image to a product. The images got uploaded somewhere, but who knows where?
