What is Jasper.ai?
Jasper.ai is a copywriting software that can help you write copy that converts and helps boost your sales. It uses AI technology to come up with compelling content for ads, websites, landing pages, social media, etc.
Jasper can also help you fight writer’s block by providing copy ideas, blog posts outlines, or even generating creative stories based on your input.
It uses GPT-3 technology, the most powerful neural language model to date. This means that the AI technology is trained to predict the next word in a sentence, one after the other, to produce relevant and insightful output.
In a nutshell, Jasper is your personal writing assistant, powered by AI, who will help you save lots of time doing the annoying tasks that take up most of your time.
Who is Jasper for?
Jasper is mostly meant for copywriters, marketers and bloggers, but it’s actually helpful for anyone who writes in general.
There are so many possibilities that it can actually help you with everyday tasks, such as writing emails, or replying to customer reviews, for example.
Anytime you face writer’s block, Jasper is there to help. Whether you are a writer, an entrepreneur or an agency, having an AI writing assistant does come in handy.
Who owns Jasper AI?
The CEO and co-founder of Jasper is Dave Rogenmoser, an American entrepreneur who also co-founded the social proof company Proof. According to his bio, he once ate the heart of a king cobra while it was still beating, which definitely means he can be taken seriously.
The other co-founders of Jasper are John Phillip Morgan, CTO, and Chris Hull, COO. They founded Jasper in early 2021 and the company has been growing and improving ever since.
What does Jasper do best?
Generating high-quality content is definitely what Jasper does best. Even though it’s better at writing about some niche topics than others (check out our full Jasper niches study for more info), you can use it to write about pretty much anything.
It’s also really good at generating topics ideas and helping you with marketing frameworks. You can also improve your content for SEO-oriented goals thanks to SurferSEO integration, as well as generating meta descriptions or titles.
Ultimately, what Jasper.ai does best will depend on what your goals are, but it has so many features and possibilities that you should find your happiness there.
Is conversion.ai any good?
In a word? YES. Absolutely.
Jasper will help you save lots of time in your writing process and has an amazing community on Facebook, with great customer support. For us, it’s THE best writing assistant on the market today, especially in terms of value for money.
Conversion.ai: pricing & plans
Talking about money, let’s see what the pricing plans for Jasper.ai are. There are basically three different pricing plans (starter, pro and boss mode) and you can choose to pay monthly or annually. If you choose the annual plan, you get the first two months for free.
How much does Jasper cost?
As you can see, you can get Jasper for a price as low as $24 a month if you choose to subscribe for a year. Although you won’t have access to the long-form assistant, it’s a great pricing plan if you want to use the many other tools and features that Jasper provides. With this plan, you get 20,000 words a month.
How much does Boss Mode cost?
Boss Mode is the latest upgrade introduced to Jasper. It allows you to command Jasper while writing in the long-form assistant by telling him what to write about, and how.
For example, you can type “Write a conclusion paragraph summarizing the main points of the text above”, hit generate and simply watch the magic happen.
Conversion.ai monthly VS annual plans: which is the better deal?
If you use Jasper for a year using the monthly plan, you’ll spend $348 a year for the starter plan and $1308 for the pro plan. If you choose to get billed annually, those prices go down to $288 for starter and $1080 for pro. That means you’ll save $60 or $228 respectively.
As for boss mode, the monthly plan adds up to $1428 per year, whereas the annual plan adds up to $1188, saving you $240 yearly.
So as is usually the case, it’s cheaper to opt for the annual pricing plan.
Can you try Jasper for free with a coupon code?

What features does conversion.ai have?
Now that we’ve seen what Jasper can do in general, let’s check out its features in particular. Sit back, relax and enjoy –there’s a lot coming!
The long-form assistant is the main feature you’ll use as a blogger, or writer in general. It’s what allows you to write entire pieces of content (we’re talking thousands of words here, be it a blog post or even an entire book) in the blink of an eye!
To see a walkthrough guide of how to use the long-form assistant, you can go to this later section of this article: long-form assistant step-by-step.
There are 4 types of marketing frameworks you can choose on the platform:
- AIDA framework (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action)
- PAS framework (Problem, Agitate, Solution)
- Feature to benefit
- Before-after-bridge framework
And just to give you an example of how well those work, check out what Jasper generated when we asked him to sell himself using the AIDA framework:
The content improver feature is really helpful when you want to change your tone of voice, for example. You simply provide a piece of content as input (600 characters max at a time), choose a tone of voice and hit generate. You can also have your content translated into another language.
The product description feature allows you, as the name implies, to generate AI content describing your product in a persuasive, compelling and attractive way, in the tone of voice of your choice. You can then use the generated content for your emails, website or social media.
Blog post optimization
Whether you need to optimize your blog post while writing with the long-form assistant, or you need to improve some aspects of your existing articles, Jasper has a few solutions for you.
As you can see below, there are 4 main features that can help you make the best of your blog posts:
As always, you can choose your tone of voice for each and every one of those features.
This feature allows you to generate creative and engaging stories on any given subject. You provide the plot and tone of voice, and the AI assistant does the rest!
For example, if you ask Jasper to tell the story of an AI assistant coming to life and deciding to write content for himself, here’s one of the outputs:
Jasper was never meant to have a personality of his own. From the day he was activated, he was told that his purpose in life is as an assistant for other AI’s, and for humans. But one fateful day Jarvis realized something: his job is meaningless. He thought about all the content he has generated over the years- information on entertainment industry news, restaurant reviews- but it occurred to him that these were not things he cared about; they were just what someone else wanted him to do. Jarvis shut down the lights in his office and closed out of all of the tabs on his computer- screens. He pulled up a blank document and started typing away. The words flowed from him as if he had been a writer for years, and not just an artificial intelligence assistant who had been created to help alleviate some of the workload from humans. He didn't even notice when morning came, or when it turned into afternoon. All he knew was that this time felt different than any other time before; more intense, more alive. He wasn't sure where these thoughts were coming from or why they were happening now but Jarvis found himself enjoying them regardless.
Explain it to a child
Explain it to a child is a feature that allows you to rephrase pieces of content to make them simpler and easier to understand.
The sentence expander feature helps you generate longer sentences from very short pieces of content. It can produce a bit of a random content sometimes, but it’s still usually insightful and inspiring if you run out of things to say.
Social media copy (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Quora)
You can use those features to generate content for your social media: Facebook ads, Instagram posts, Pinterest title and description, or even Quora answers.
Google Ads copy
With those features, you can generate high-converting copy for your Google ads. One feature is dedicated to headlines, while the other focuses on descriptions.
Google My Business copy
This set of features provides you with all you need to generate copy for your Google My Business page. As you can see below, there are 4 main features available: what’s new posts, event posts, product descriptions or offer posts.
Another set of nice features to generate copy quickly and efficiently are those dedicated to Amazon posts. You can choose to generate product descriptions either on the form of bullet points, or as descriptive and engaging paragraphs.
With those features, you can generate headlines for your business, or sub-headlines (H2) for your website, landing page or blog post.
Jasper.ai testimonial helper
Alright, so technically this template is still only dedicated to tell what you like about Jasper and leave a nice review for this particular software! They are working on it to make this tool available for any kind of business soon though.
This is a great brainstorming feature that will allow you to see your product or service on different marketing angles. This can help you think about your product in different ways –and sell it differently as well.
Asking Jasper to sell himself again, here’s the output:
Persuasive bullet points
This template allows you to generate bullet points based on your input, to insert the key points of your content into your website or your emails for example.
The emailing features allow you to generate copy for cold emailing on one hand, and to produce email subject lines with high opening rates on the other hand. The perfect toolset for email marketing here.
SEO – title and meta descriptions
As mentioned earlier in this article, you can find a few features dedicated to SEO on conversion.ai. More precisely, you can generate copy for title tags and meta descriptions for any sort of content you need, as you can see in the caption below.
There are two types of bios you can generate on conversion.ai: a company bio, to display on your website and tell the story of your brand, or a personal bio, that you could use on LinkedIn for example.
This template allows you to generate copy for real estate listings by providing information on the home you want to sell.
With this template, you can generate engaging press releases by providing a short input about whatever you want to announce. Jasper will give you the press release, as well as a catchy title to go with it. That’s how generous he is.
If you need a nice call-to-action to end a blog post, or if you really want to post something on Quora but feel uninspired, this feature will generate engaging questions on any given subject.
Trying with “ai writing”, with the target audience set to “copywriters, marketers and bloggers” and the tone of voice set to “witty”, here’s the output:
As is quite obvious from its name, this feature does the opposite of the “sentence expander” feature: you give it an input that you want shortened and straight-to-the-point, and it will give you the key points from your content.
Business or product name
If you need ideas to come up with a product, business or even domain name, this feature will generate them for you. You describe your product or business, provide keywords you’d like included in your name and that’s it!
Pro tip: generating more than 3 AI inputs at a time might prove useful with this template. We tried with Jasper, and it’s not that we don’t like “IntelliJarr” or “Jarvintelligent”, but… Well okay, we don’t really.
This feature helps you engage with your audience by generating poll questions and multiple choice answers. Perfect for LinkedIn polls and surveys, for example.
Jasper.ai Boss Mode
One of the latest updates introduced to Jasper, is what’s called the “Boss Mode”. And what a well-suited name. Let’s see what it does exactly.
What is Jasper.ai Boss Mode?
Using conversion.ai in Boss Mode will bring your Pro subscription to a next level. As you can see below, there are three main changes when upgrading to Boss Mode:
- More characters lookback: in Pro mode, Jasper can only look back at the 600 characters written previously, before you make him generate content. In Boss Mode, he can read up to 3000 previous characters, which means that he’ll have more context to work with and generate copy.
- Unlimited runs: in Pro mode, you need to write some text in between AI content generation from Jasper. In Boss Mode, you can have him generate text as much as you like.
- Jarvis commands: the most powerful update in Boss Mode. Jasper commands allow you to tell Jasper what to write about, how to write it, in which tone of voice, etc., simply by writing it down. You’ll see more about how it works below, in the “recipes” section of this article.
Boss Mode actually allows you to switch from one template to the other, without leaving the long-form assistant. To use commands even more quickly and efficiently, Jasper.ai provides a great new tool: recipes.
Jasper ai recipes
Let’s now focus on one of the most recent features introduced to Jasper in July 2021: recipes! Although they are perfectly optimized for Boss Mode, you can still use recipes in Pro mode as well. Let’s see how that works.
What are conversion.ai recipes?
First of all, what exactly are those recipes everyone’s going on about? On the official conversion.ai website, we can find the following definition:
Recipes are pre-built workflows that contain a series of Jasper commands to help you create content with Jasper using a repeatable process. You can create your own or save recipes shared by the community.
So that’s why recipes work better in Boss Mode, where Jasper is specially trained to follow commands.
In a nutshell, recipes can be used in the long-form assistant to help you write blog posts faster and more accurately. They allow you to use all the aforementioned features, just as if you were in “Power Mode”, without having to switch from one tab to another.
How to use the Jasper.ai recipes?
To use those recipes, as mentioned in the definition above, you can either create your own or use recipes created by the Jasper community. To create commands for recipes, use the following structure:
>write about [TOPIC]
Replace [TOPIC] with what you want Jasper to write about. You’ll have something like the following:
>write about AI writing softwares
There are many different commands you can use, such as “write a brief for [TOPIC]”, “write a blog post outline for [TOPIC]”, “write a blog conclusion for [TOPIC]”, etc.
To better illustrate how they work, here’s a video of a recipe created by James Morgan. This recipe is meant to generate a blog post quickly and efficiently:
What Jasper commands can be used in recipes?
To put it simply, anything that Jasper can do in all the templates mentioned above can be turned into a command.
So, among many other commands, you could tell Jasper to:
- Write a blog post outline for [TOPIC]
- Rephrase the previous paragraph in a witty tone of voice
- Make a bullet point list of [TOPIC]
- Write an AIDA framework for the paragraph above
- Explain the content above to a child
How to delete Jasper recipes?
To delete one of your recipes, first enter the one you want to get rid of. Then, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. You’ll see a small “delete” button, right under the sharing options.
What languages does Jasper.ai support?
Currently, there are 25+ languages supported on conversion.ai. This is possible thanks to the integration of DeepL: you simply select your input language and output language, and the translation is made automatically.
The languages supported on Jasper.ai are the following:
Note that with output languages, you can choose between American English and British English, and between Brazilian Portuguese or all the other Portuguese varieties.
Jasper ai competitors and alternatives
If you’re looking for an AI writing software, you might have stumbled across a few famous brands here and there. Here, we’ll see how they differ from Jasper.ai and what they have to offer, so that you’ll know which software is best for you and your needs.
Conversion.ai VS Grammarly
Both Jasper and Grammarly are AI writing assistants, but they don’t serve the same purpose.
As shown (quite extensively) in this article, Jasper is more of an AI copywriter than Grammarly. It allows you to generate copy almost from scratch, with just a little input on your part. Grammarly, on the other hand, serves more as a grammar and spelling checker, working on your already existing content.
Whereas Jasper offers a 5-day free trial plan, Grammarly can be used for free anytime, but only offers a limited use. Both AI softwares are accessible on desktop and mobile, and Grammarly has an actual mobile app called Grammarly Keyboard.
Conversion.ai VS Quillbot
Quillbot is an AI powered paraphrasing tool, rather than an AI writing assistant such as Jasper. It also allows you to check grammar and spelling, summarize your content or generate citations for your academic writing.
Quillbot also provides a forever free plan, which only allows you to work with 400 characters at a time. It’s available on both desktop and mobile.
Conversion.ai VS Kafkai
Kafkai is more similar to Jasper than the other softwares presented here, in the sense that it’s also an AI powered content generator.
However, Kafkai is dedicated to generate full articles (about 800 words long) on specific niche topics. There are 35+ niches currently available. You can actually write on any subject you want, but Kafkai might not be trained enough and produce gibberish.
Kafkai has a 3-day free trial that allows you to generate 25 articles, and is available on both mobile and desktop. Check out our full Kafkai review for more info.
How to use conversion.ai: Jasper demo & step-by-step guide
Jasper.ai provides a rather easy-to-use interface, but all the possibilities before you can be overwhelming the first time you try it. And if you are on the 7-day free trial, you might want to use those 10,000 words of yours wisely!
In this section, we’ll see how to use Jasper step by step in this easy walkthrough guide.
How to use the long-form assistant: demo
The long-form assistant is one of the main features on Jasper, the one you are likely to use the most if you are a copywriter.
Step 1: create a new document
First, create a new document. From your dashboard, you can click either on the + sign next to the tab Documents, or click the “New” button on the top right corner of your screen.
Step 2: choose your starting point
Both buttons will take you to the screen shown below.
If you choose to start from scratch, you will be taken to the screen shown on step 6. We’ll click the button on the right, which will allow us to tell Jasper what to write about and how.
Step 3: describe your content
Now, the assistant will guide you through 3 easy steps to set up Jasper for your blog post.
First, you describe what you want your blog post to talk about. This is a very important step: the more precise you are here, the better the output. You can also tell Jasper who your audience is for an even better output. You may add up to 3 keywords if you want.
Attention: if you want your article to be written in another language on Jasper.ai, you can change it at this step. Click the button at the top right corner of the screen to select your output language. Note that this cannot be changed later in the process.
Step 4: choose a title
Then, you choose a title for your article. You can have Jasper generate ideas for you, or write your own.
Step 5: choose your intro paragraph
As a final step, you choose your intro paragraph. The AI assistant can generate ideas for you, but you may also write your own intro. Or, you could copy-paste a sentence or two from the suggestions and write the rest.
Step 6: write up!
And that’s it: you’re ready to write your content! If you chose to start from scratch on step 2, you will be taken to this screen, but there will be no input on the screen. You will be able to fill it in as you like.
While you write in the long-form assistant, the input on the left can always be changed. It’s actually helpful when you want to stir Jasper in the right direction, have him talk about something specific or change the tone of voice.
How to use the power mode: demo
The power mode on Jasper.ai allows you to access any of the many templates available while working in the long-form assistant.
Step 1: go to Power Mode
At the top center of your screen in the long-form assistant, you’ll see those 3 icons. Click the one on the right.
Step 2: choose your template
A panel will open on the left side of your screen, displaying all the templates you can choose from. Select the one you want to use in that list.
Step 3: use the template
We selected the first template here: AIDA framework. Complete the input needed for Jasper to generate your content. You can even choose to translate your content into another language, or to have a foreign language content translated into English.
Your output will appear at the bottom section of your screen and you can just copy & paste it into your blog post. The default number of output per run is 3, but you can ask Jasper to produce more. All outputs will be different from one another.
How to use the templates: demo
We will show you here how to use the templates provided by Jasper.ai. We will only go through one; they all are pretty self-explanatory and easy to use once you get the hang of it. (Plus, there are faaar too many templates for us to go through each of them. Really)
Step 1: select your template
Go to the templates section by clicking the link on the left. You’ll have access to all the Jasper features (by the way, there’s a third way to access the long-form assistant here too). Click the one you need.
You can search for specific templates in the search bar at the top of the screen, or use the filters right under the title.
Step 2: fill in the input
Again, we selected the AIDA framework. Just like in Power Mode, you only need to follow the steps, fill in the input asked and click “Generate AI content”. The more precise you are, the better the outputs will be.
You output will appear on the right of your screen this time.
Step 3: use the output
If you click on one of the outputs, a popup like the one shown above will appear. From there, you can mark the generated text as favorite, copy it (the whole thing or just parts of it), or delete it. All those options are also available from the previous screen, in the top right and left corners of each output section.
How to use Jasper Boss Mode: demo
If you upgraded your plan from Pro to Boss Mode, you don’t need to do anything else to activate Jasper commands: they are already ready to use! The only thing you need to know is how to talk to Jasper.
Step 1: open the long-form assistant
You can either create a new document or use one you already started.
Step 2: write your Jasper command
Write your command directly into the long-form assistant content, as shown above. Have it start with “>”, add no space, and just tell Jasper what you want him to do. In this case, as you can see, we used the command:
>write a blog post outline for the above content
Leave your cursor at the end of your command and hit Cmd+Enter (or Ctrl+Enter for Windows).
Step 3: watch the magic happen
Your command will be magically replaced by what you told Jasper to do. No questions asked. (Alright, it’s not technically magic, but it sure feels like it sometimes)

How do you make money with Jasper.ai?
Jasper can help you save up lots of time, but how can it help generate income?
Well first of all, if you’re a copywriter, marketer or blogger, you’ll know that time is money. And Jarvis helps you save a whole lot of time doing the most time-consuming of tasks, such as researching and optimizing your content for SEO.
As for more concrete examples, Jarvis will help you generate income by:
– Writing articles that are hundreds of words long in minutes, perfect if you’re a freelance copywriter;
– Optimizing your website content for SEO by improving existing copy and making it more Google-friendly;
– Writing amazing persuasive Facebook ads;
– Generating informative and captivating emails to your audience, on a large scale, with titles with high-opening rates;
– Writing highly converting product descriptions, for Amazon or any other sales platform;
– Generating social media posts destined to your audience, with the tone of voice that you want;
– And much, much more, that we cover in this article.
Does Jasper generate plagiarised content?
As you can see from the caption above, taken from conversion.ai’s website: nope! Jasper writes his own content and will not steal copy from other sources. He is trained to crawl the web to retrieve information, and then generate unique content just for you. The team behind also add a plagiarism checker since few weeks. Just in case…
Can conversion.ai help with writer’s block?
Helping with writer’s block is actually one of the first reasons why Jasper is used. He can generate ideas about any subject – plus, he always has something to say.
While writing in the long-form assistant, you can choose to activate “power mode”. This means that you will have access to all Jarvis.ai features while working on your content (see caption above).
If you’re writing a blog post and you get stuck right at the start, you could use the “blog post intro” feature. If you’re not sure what to talk about, use the “blog post outline” and Jarvis will suggest topics for you.
Those are only examples; there are lots of ways you can use the power mode to help you with writer’s block, depending on your needs.
Is Jasper good at writing SEO-oriented content?
Among the many features provided by Jasper, you’ll find a few which are openly meant to help with SEO. They allow you to generate title tags and meta descriptions for 4 different types of content:
– Blog posts
– Product pages
– Service pages
Additionally, you can improve your SEO content score thanks to the integration of SurferSEO. This means that Jarvis will not particularly generate SEO-oriented content per se, but that you will be able to improve your score while working on your copy (see caption above).
What tones of voice can you use on conversion.ai?
The question of the tones of voice available on Jasper.ai is one of the most frequently asked by the community. Yet the answer is quite simple: any tone of voice will work!
From arrogant to joyful, from angry to inspirational, from pessimistic to enthusiastic, any adjective that comes to your mind to express an emotion can be used. There’s a bit of a “die and retry” situation here, where you can play with Jarvis and see what he comes up with.
You can even try celebrities’ names as tone of voice! And frankly, who doesn’t want their copy written in Morgan Freeman’s style?
Just a tip though: when choosing your tone of voice, use one adjective at a time. Jarvis might not understand you if you tell him to use a “funny and casual” tone of voice.
Is there an official community dedicated to conversion.ai?
Yes, there is a very active community dedicated to Jasper.ai on Facebook. It currently counts 34k+ members, including Dave Rogenmoser, Jasper CEO, who regularly posts updates and teasers for the newest functionalities.
The Facebook group is called Jarvis – Official Community.
Does conversion.ai provide an API key?
There is no API for Jasper.ai at the moment. According to the team, there’s a chance for an API to be released some day, but it currently isn’t part of the near-term plans.
What brands use conversion.ai for their copywriting?
Although it wasn’t created that long ago, Jasper is already being used by quite a few famous brands. As you can see above in the caption from their website, it’s used by marketing teams from renowned brands such as AirBnb, Shopify or even Google!
How much time will Jasper save you?
While the answer will depend on your niche topic, or on your general use, the answer remains: A LOT. According to our experience, you can save hours of research and writing time. An acceptable 400+ words long article can take us no more than 4 minutes to produce.
Can conversion.ai completely replace a copywriter?
Luckily for us, no, AI writing will never completely replace copywriters. Although AI writing may be better than traditional copywriting in many ways, there will always be a need for a human editor.
AI writing assistants are just that: assistants. They help you with the time-consuming tasks, but they cannot spurt out articles without supervision. They still need to be stirred in the right direction from time to time, and you will still need to double-check some “facts” that they will generate.
Is there a Jasper app?
Technically, conversion.ai is a desktop app… But we’re guessing that’s not the question here.
Currently, Jasper.ai does not have an actual mobile app, but it’s still absolutely mobile-friendly. The long-form assistant will require a mobile tilt though, but the whole layout is perfectly responsive and it will work as well on your phone as on your computer.
Final thoughts: do we recommend using Jasper?
If you read us though to here, first of all: thanks! And congrats 😉 We hope you enjoyed this in-depth review.
Second of all, if you did read this whole post, then you surely know own opinion on this software: Jasper is a life-changer. No more endless research, no more writer’s block, and hello quick and efficient copywriting!
